Fire Safety Plans are alegal requirement. The Saskatoon Fire Department in conjunction with the National Fire Code and Provincial Fire Code require Fire Safety Plans be provided for all condominiums. The Saskatoon Fire Department Bulletin 17-12 is the City legislation that requires all applicable buildings prepare Fire Safety Plans. TheFire Safety Plans provide residents, Property Managers and the Fire Department essential information in regarding; the structure, fire systems, exit routes, and designated personnel in the event of a fire and/or an emergency situation.
tas – Technical Advisory Services Inc. will work with the Condominium Board, their designated representative and/or Property Manager in preparing the Fire Safety Plan. The plan is based on approved examples provided by the Saskatoon Fire Department. In preparing the plan I meet with the applicable parties, carry out a detailed site inspection to identify the location of various components and devices, review necessary documentation and provide a draft for review. I then meet with the Condominium Board, their designated representative and/or Property Manager to review the draft, answer questions in regards to the document and make any necessary edits and revisions. Upon completion two (2) printed colour copies will be provided as well as a USB memory stick with a PDF copy for client printing purposes and reproduction.

Fire Safety Plans are prepared in the best interests of building owners and occupants and dependent upon the use and occupancy and any unique features. A building owner or agent has a responsibility to implement the provisions of a Fire Safety Plan and should include specific information on the building and its contents.

Leave the Fire area immediately.
Close and Latch all doors behind you.
Activate the fire alarm pull station to notify building occupants.
Leave the building immediately via the nearest exit or stairwell exit.
Proceed to Muster Point (by the Garbage Bins in the southeast corner of the parking lot).

DO NOT USE ELEVATOR
Upon hearing the Fire Alarm, LEAVE THE BUILDING immediately via nearest exit or stairwell exit.
Take your keys! CLOSE and LATCH DOORS behind you – do not lock.
IF YOU ENCOUNTER SMOKE: Return to or stay in your suite or office if you are unable to leave by an alternate exit. DIAL 9-1-1 and await further instructions.
REMAIN CALM WARNING: Tampering with any fire protection systems and equipment is a criminal offence subject to a heavy fine, imprisonment or both.
